California Probation Technical Assistance

Capacity Building Technical Assistance for California Probation

CJI received joint funding from the National Institute of Corrections and the Public Welfare Foundation to support the implementation of the California Community Corrections Performance Incentive Act of 2009. The Act aims to reduce revocations to prison and increase the adoption of evidence-based practices in California probation agencies. CJI is working with the California Administrative Office of the Courts and the Chief Probation Officers of California to build the capacity of local probation agencies. Technical assistance includes:

  • Providing regional professional development trainings for supervisors;
  • Curating an online resource library on evidence-based practices, data-driven decision making, and system change;
  • Delivering webinars and online training on systemic interventions, organizational development, and executive leadership;
  • Hosting a statewide work session to plan for the impact of legislative change.
