CJI has recently begun working with the Court Support Services Division (CSSD) of the State of Connecticut's Judicial Branch to expand their Contractor Data Collection System (CDCS) and enhance their ability to use empirical evidence to support data-driven decision-making.

In the fall of 2002, NIC joined with CJI to assist two pilot states (Illinois and Maine) in applying an integrated approach to the implementation of evidence-based principles in community corrections. CJI, with support from the Dwyer & Collora Foundation and the Gardiner Howland Shaw Foundation, examined the Massachusetts criminal justice to understand the current prisoner reentry process and create momentum to reform the system for improved public safety through better reentry outcomes.
